Thanks for sharing an example of product, and letting us go in time to use facilities before 6th graders arrived. Elective group
I really enjoyed the strategies you shared. The modeling helped us image ways we can use these in our classroom.

I beleive this was a great eye opener for many of us. Recongnizing literacy problems vary across grade levels and among students is huge. It is my theory that different pedigogies taught to differents groups of kids may be the key to why there is such a range of literacy issues. I think it would be wise if elementary stuck to one type of pedigogy for reading instrucion instead of changing every 2 to 3 years.
with our diverse groups of learners; it is good to be introduced to diffrent styles of learning.
Literacy strategies have been helpful for my students. Visualization in particular has helped them connect to the text and encourage interest. Clarifying has also been helpful. Rereading & adjusting the reading rate has been effective. Also, summarizing has been a useful tool because it provides a means to condense information which can be easier to retrieve.
